Department of Veterans' Affairs Community Nursing

Kinder Caring is pleased to announce the success of becoming a Department Veteran Affairs Community Nursing approved provider commencing 1st March 2010.

DVA Community Nursing offers nursing care to eligible Veterans in the comfort of their own home. Services are flexible and tailored to meet individual needs.

These services include:

* Wound care
* Continence management
* Palliative care
* Medication management
* General nursing care
* Personal care

Veterans must have a current valid referral that has been obtained from an authorised referral source.

A referral for an entitled person can be received from one of the following four (4) authorised referral sources:

1. a Local Medical Officer (LMO) or other General Practitioner (GP); or
2. a treating doctor in a hospital; or
3. a hospital discharge planner; or
4. a Veterans' Home Care (VHC) Assessment Agency.

Informal referrals may be received, however they will require a valid written referral from the above referring agents prior to commencing service. Please call us on 1300 796 675 for further information or referrals
