COURSE DESCRIPTION
Previously known as "Senior First Aid" "Workplace Level 2" or "Level 2
Qualification", this course is considered the industry standard in basic
level first aid training by all industries which require staff to hold a
first aid qualification. There is two methods of training delivery, the
first via 4 - 6 hour of self study, and a 1 day Practical Workshop,
concluding in an assessment. The second method is 2 day workshop, combining
both the theory and practical.
PRE-/CO-REQUISITES
There are no pre-requisites accept that the student must be 14 years old
older. Students under 14 years must provide written permission to attend
the course from a parent or guardian.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Topics covered within the certificate include legal implications,
infection control, DRABCD, safe management of an unconscious casualty,
resuscitation, treatment of shock, wounds and bleeding, burns, asthma and
anaphylaxis. It also includes treatment of fractures, sprains, strains and
dislocations, head, neck and spinal injuries, and treatment poisoning,
bites, strings, diabetes and seizures.
WHY SHOULD YOU COMPLETE A FIRST AID CERTIFICATE
Many industries now require you to achieve a level of first aid training
before they will consider you for employment. These include the hospitality
industry, the construction industry, the security industry and many others.
You may also be in the position where you are likely to encounter accidents
or incidents, such as those involved in sports. The qualification is
nationally accredited and delivered by expert trainers, in a friendly
environment in the Sydney CBD.
WHAT YOU WILL RECIEVE
At the conclusion of the course, you will receive a Statement of
Attainment, valid for 3 years.
COST AND DURATION
Our training facility is conveniently located at Level 14, 44 Market
Street in the Sydney CBD. It is delivered either via 4 - 6 hours of self
study, using a hard copy guide that is mailed to you prior to your
attendance, or over 2 days, which include the theory module and practical.
Both courses culminate in an assessment.
