Certificate III in Aged Care
This qualification is designed for those who wish to work primarily in
residential aged care facilities under direct or regular supervision within
clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans. It is an entry
level qualification for those wishing to pursue a fulfilling career in the
community service industry.
These workers:
- Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or
other activities of living for people in an aged care setting
- Support the person to meet emotional and psychological needs
- Assist individuals with self medication
- Carry out activities related to an individualised plan
- Report directly to a supervisor and not responsible for other workers
- Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and colleagues

Entry Requirements:
School Certificate (Year 10) or equivalent
Course Duration: Face to face:
23 weeks x 9 hours per week = 207 hours
Qualification Requirements:
Requires completion of 14 units of competency: 10 compulsory units and 4
elective units.
