Please read this document carefully.
At Kinder Caring we believe that each Client has rights and responsibilities, and these should be respected at all times.
Each Client of Kinder Caring Home Nursing Services has the right to:
- Full and effective use of civil, legal and consumer rights;
- Quality care appropriate to his or her needs;
- Full information about his or her state of health and about available treatments;
- Be treated with dignity and respect and to live without being obliged to feel grateful to those providing care;
- Live without discrimination or victimisation and without being obliged to feel grateful to those providing care;
- Personal privacy;
- Live in safe, secure and home like environment and to move freely within and outside his or her home with out undue restrictions;
- Be treated and accepted as an individual and to have his or her individual preferences taken into account and treated with respect;
- Continue his or her cultural and religious practices and to retain the language of choice without discrimination;
- Select and maintain social and personal relationships with any person without fear, criticism or restriction;
- Freedom of speech;
- Maintain his or her personal independence, which includes a recognition and acceptance of personal responsibility for his or her own actions and choices, even though some actions and choices may involve an element of risk;
- Maintain control over, and continue making decisions about the personal aspects of his or her daily life, financial affairs and possessions unless deemed unfit to do so by the proper authorities;
- Be involved in the activities, associations and friendships of his or her choice;
- Have access to services and activities that are available in the community;
- Have case histories kept confidential except where consent is given to have such information divulged or where it is required by the law to be divulged;
- Make complaints;

Receive itemised details of accounts for services rendered;
Have access to information about his or rights, care and other personal information; - Dispense of the services of external providers including Kinder Caring Home Nursing Services;
- Have access to advocates and all other avenues of redress;
- Freedom from reprisal or a well-founded fear of reprisal in any form for taking action to enforce his or her rights to refuse any specific treatment, drug, examination or other health care procedure;
Each client of Kinder Caring Home Nursing Agency has the responsibility:
- To respect the rights of staff to work in an environment that is free from harassment or physical aggression;
- For his or her own health and well being, as far as he or she is capable;
- To respect rights of staff to work in a safe environment;
- To inform his or her doctor and nurse/PCA, as far as possible, about his or her relevant medical history, current state of mental health and medications being taken;
